We've probably all seen this car, legendary for it's rally victories. The in 1962 released Alpine A110 was the successor of the A108. The A110 was a light and quick sportscar, made in France with mostly Renault parts. The Alpine wasn't well known till it started dominating all rally championships. To pay tribute to this car Alpine came back to life to make a new A110.
In this review we're looking at the 1:43 Eligor Alpine A110. Eligor makes different French cars in scale 1:43, but mostly trucks. Our example is finished in white with a French stripe, and limited to 500 ehhr 288 pcs? The outer box says it's limited to 288 pcs, while on the display it's limited to 500 pcs, weird..
The model comes in on a nice base with a finish/start line, the model is held dust proof by a plastic display cover. At first look you might say this model isn't 1:43 scale, it's a very very small car. But that's also because the real car isn't big either. The front of this model is known for having a lot of lights, six to be exact. All lights have have a little plastic cover with a little bulb behind it, very good. The Alpine script is printed on, it's good, it's not metal etched but that isn't a problem since this is more of a budget model. The license plate is good, the indicators are made out of plastic look very realistic. For the rest there isn't too much to see here.
For the side there isn't much to say, it's ok. Wheels are yellow with a silver outline, but the wheels on my example aren't perfectly painted... The french flag on the side is nice and crisp. Doorhandle is painted on in silver, and window outlines are done in silver too, but not perfectly painted. And that's actually all for the side.
Then the rear of this model, lights are good, but not as good as the front. The exhaust is ok, but looks a little unrealistic. I do like the intakes on the top of the backend, they look real nice. There's again not much to say.
For the interior there isn't much to say either then that it's good. It's all black and (for me) a little to hard to get a good shot of, but since the interior is so small there isn't a need to do much talking.
Overall this is a good model, with some minor faults. But they are very hard to notice. For around €40,- this is a pretty good model to have displayed in your collection. |
