The Peugeot 504 coupé, probably one of the most beautiful French cars ever made. Has now been put into a timemachine by the Peugeot designers to make, in my opinion, the most beautiful Peugeot ever. In 2018 Peugeot showed us the E Legend Concept car on the Paris motor show. A modern reincarnation of the classic 504 coupé, but this time fully up to today's standards. Fully electric and with self driving capabilities. 456 bhp and 800nm are enough to push this car in 4 seconds to 100km/h (62mph). For now this is only a conceopt but we're already seeing design elements of this in the current Peugeot models, like the type badge on the front of the hood. Hopefully Peugeot will ever dare to make this thing into reality, cause I bet there are lot's op people interested in a car like this.
The model of the E Legend we have in front of us here today is from French resin model manufacturer OttoMobile.
OT323, limited to 3000pcs. OttoMobile produces very high quality models for a small price of only €59,95 (€69,95 for racing models). But as with all models from Otto they rise in price at the moment of release, so be sure to always grab your models asap from the Otto club. club-ottomobile.com/en/ Let's see how Otto have done on this one, read on...... |
Straight from the box there's this feeling of holding a very well built model in your hands. The weight and overall shape makes this model feel very durable. There's just something about holding these resin models that make them so nice. Otto didn't dissapoint on this on. The shape and stance is absolutely perfect aswell as the paint. The front lights are very well done and must have been a pain for Otto to produce. The bumpers features a nice Peugeot script and the blue-white-red French flag. The retro Peugeot badge is a very nice and crisp decal.

The side profile of this model is simply stunning. No agressive lines or big air intakes, just a few very sleek long curvy lines. The wheels on this model are a masterpiece on it's own. These very futuristic turbine-ish looking wheels must have been a pain to recreate in scale. Toghether with the crisp badge Otto have done an amazing job. Next to that there is the E-Legend badge, which again had to be a pain to recreate in scale, but yes, Otto also did an amazing job on making. A step up from the Citroën ZX from Otto that I reviewed some time ago is that the side windows on this model are placed in without any bubbles in them which makes the overall look more realistic and gives a better access to the interior, which we'll look at a little further on. I love the metal etched surround at the top of the window line, it gives this model a real high-end look.
Otto have again excelled at the rear of this model. From the very complex shape of the taillights till the Peugeot badge inside of the rear bumper. Words say a lot, but pictures say more in this case. Aslo a thumbs up for making the complicated windows of this model. It must have been difficult to make sure the windows would stay attatched to the model.
Now the ''moment suprême" of the Otto E Legend. When reviewing their ZX I complained about the interior lacking some colour, they must have seen that and thought, ''we'll do it different next time''. This interior is absolutely mind-blowing. Not just when compared to the price but also in general, I haven't seen many model with such a nice and colourful interior. Nothing is missed on this one, from the nice wood inlay till the very futuristic center console. I also love the seats in this one, Otto used some flocking to make it look like these model are really made out of felt. All the details are in this interior, a huge huge thumbs up to Otto on this one!
That's it for this one. And what a review it was, WOW! Otto have really shown us what they are capable to do at such a tight budget. It's such a big improvement over their ZX. And probably their best model to date.
After owning a few Otto's and lot's of different model cars from different brands and in different price ranges, I can safely say that Otto is the best bang for your buck brand, or the model car brand with the best price-quality ratio. And this is quite the achievement, and something I would never have thought I'd ever say about any model car brand.
Offcourse there's always room for small improvements, so I'll never give a model car a 10.
